Trackside with Grady Wiggins...
Following
his family’s racing tradition, Grady Wiggins began racing quarter midgets at
the age of 5. When he turned 8, Grady added junior drag racing to his list of
driving experiences.
Grady has already set his sights on becoming a professional driver when he grows up. But first, he has set his sights on winning a Midwest Junior Super Series Championship, along with a NHRA Wally (preferably at the NHRA Eastern Conference Finals), and a NHRA Division 3 Championship.
Dubbed “Darth Grader” by friends and family, racing pumps through Grady’s blood. He comes from a long line of racers, including his dad Trevor and younger brother Eli. Plus, his cousins Cody, Cydnie, Holli, Ami, and Shelbi were all accomplished junior drag racers in their day. Cody and Cydnie continue to make their mark in "big cars."
Grady enjoys all types of motorsports – from putting down some laps in his quarter midget to tearing up the field on the dirt bike or four wheeler. Of course, not a day goes by without competing in something – even racing hot wheels or bikes – with Eli, an accomplished racer himself.
Grady’s parents, Trevor and Jami, are extremely proud of their son’s accomplishments – especially off the track. “He’s been a fighter since day one,” remembers dad Trevor. “After a very premature start in life (born at just 24 weeks, 1 lb. 7 oz.) and lots of physical, occupational and speech therapies, Grady is growning into a bright, caring, enthusiastic young man with great chance at winning in every aspect of life. We are thankful everyday.”
